Snapshots from my Navy Days

The Navy was the best time of my life.   While there, I didn't realize this to be true, but I look back on it now and know it was the prime-time of my life.  Young, healthy, seeing the world and getting paid pretty damn good to do it too!  It was an exciting life for a young guy that grew up in a town of 20,000 people in the middle of the Mojave Desert.  I got to go to Greece, Spain, Kenya Africa, Sri-Lanka, Scotland, England, the Virgin Islands, the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic, the North Atlantic.

Yep, it was a wonderful time, and eventually it brought me to my girl here in Jacksonville.  The Navy is still my employer, and I'm very loyal.  Working as an active duty sailor and now as a civilian has, for the most part, been rewarding and fulfilling. I'm very grateful for having had the Navy in my life since day one.  Don't forget, I was born and raised on a U.S. Navy air base in the Mojave Desert!  The Navy has always been a part of my life.  When I left active duty, I went to work here in Jacksonville for a private business.  I felt disconnected and disoriented, for the 20 months or so that I worked there before landing my current job.  It was the first time in my life that for 20 months I had absolutely nothing to do with the Navy, and I did not like it.  Strange how that works.
